 PRODUCT  DESCRIPTION :

Transcal N is a high quality heattransfer oil possessing low vapour-pressure and selected for high level of thermal stability, high specific heat and high thermal conductivity.  The excellent thermal stability of the fluids gives them long life, and the low-viscosity characteristics ensure good heat-transfer and ease of circulation at start-up.  Additives are not used.

APPLICATIONS :

Transcal N is recommended for non-pressurized, closed liquid-phase heating systems operating at bulk-fluid temperatures up to 320oC.  It is employed in a wide range of applications, not only inmanufacturing processesbutalsoforspace-heating, dryingandsteam-generation, asan alterative to electricity in applications such as die-heating, and where products such as bitumen require to be heated at the time of application.

OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND SERVICE  PRECAUTIONS:

Transcal N is used for operation at bulk fluid temperatures up to 320oC and maximum heater skin temperature of 340oC.  If these temperatures are exceeded, the fluid’s life is shortened by cracking and its characteristics are altered. It is recommended that fluids be sampled and analyses at least once a year, to ensure that they continue satisfactorily in service.

STORAGE:

All packages should be stored under cover.  Where outside storage of drums that would trap rain water is unavoidable, they should be horizontal to avoid the possible ingress of water and the obliteration of drum markings.  Products should not be stored above 60oC, exposed to hot sun or freezing conditions.
